Cowboy Ninja Viking the movie. I have been waiting for so long.

So about a year ago, Disney hired Rhett Reese and Paul Wenick who wrote Zombieland. Well the final draft of the screenplay came back and it was a little to rough for Disneys tastes. However where Walt dropped the ball, Universal picked it up. That is right, the film adaptation of the Image Comic written by AJ Lieberman and Riley Rossmo is still on. The writer rumored to be taking over the reigns is one Marc Forster , the same writer who will be bringing another nerd work to life. He is currently working on World War Z.

For those of you unaware of the plot of this comic book I will enlighten you. Basically it concerns a super soldier who has multiple personalities. These different personalities each have different talents that keeps him ready for any situation. He is fighting against the military organization who worked with him and against others like himself. If the movie has the same sense of humor and action that this comic does it is a film you don’t want to miss. Rumor has it that work on the film will begin at the end of this year. This will make my Halloween costume 2 years ago totally ahead of the times.

National Lampoons Vacation Reboot

The writers of the successful comedy Horrible Bosses and the yet released sequel Bosses , John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein began work on a newVacationmovie back in 2009 and are supposedly still working on it as of 2011. The story will supposedly follow a now grown up Rusty Griswold and his family. Hopefully this film can bring back a classic sense of humor for the entire family.

NEW POKEMON……….. God I am Nerdy

That is right folks, for all of you Pikachu lovers out there there are 2 new stories for ya. First of all PokePark for the Nintendo Wii is to be released tomorrow Tuesday the 28th. You can play as pokemon and run around saving the day and stuff. That is all I have on that one. The bigger news is this. POKEMON WHITE/BLACK 2. You heard right. Nintendo has announced the release of 2 new pokemon games. These games will supposedly take place right after the first games let off. The interesting part of this story is that these games will be for the original DS and not the 3DS. Does this mean Nintendo has started to loose interest in 3D a little bit before the rest of us? Who knows. All I know is now there will be another game for my girlfriend to beat me at. Yay

How to be a Super Hero (Gear and Gadgets)

Ever want to fight from the shadows? Save your city as a masked vigilante? Pick up super hot chicks and make out with them while hanging upside down in the rain? Well maybe this will help. With the release of the new Dark Knight film everyone is getting in the mood to be their local neighbor hood hero. Bellow is a list and links to all of the coolest gear you will need to save the world. It ain’t cheap but can you put a price on being that awesome?

Can’t fight crime if you can’t get to it and somehow riding up in your minivan or pickup truck doesn’t strike fear into the hearts of criminals the way you want. That is why you need a real ride.

You could ride up in this street legal Tron Motorcycle or maybe this jet engine Bat-mobile.
Or maybe you would rather climb the walls of the cityscape using these ninja claws.

So you get to the scene of the crime. Great. Now what gear do you have to help guarantee that you don’t get your orphaned butt kicked. Maybe this will help, a tazer brass knuckle. That’s right. Send a volt through as you nail that uppercut. You could also go a bit more green with these deer antler knuckles.

But what if your less into the BOP and POWS and more into the ZING and SLICES. Then maybe these arm mounted blades are more your speed.

Oh No. Something has gone horribly wrong. Now you are hanging over a vat of something toxic. The only way to get out is to burn through the chain holding you up. This high powered, hand held laser may be of some use.

But what is a super hero with out some ability to solve crimes. Batman was the worlds greatest detective but maybe you aren’t. Well this handy little  throw-able panoramic camera may be of some use in solving the case.

This is a good start for any wanabe crime fighter. The rest is up to you.

Guild Wars 2. OOOOOHHH YEA.

So for those of you are not aware of the series it was first released all the way back in 2005. Developed by AreaNet and published by NCsoft. Unlike some of its other MMO brethren at the time, World of Warcraft, ext. this game was Free to play. So if the idea of paying a monthly or yearly fee upset you, Guild wars was right up your ally. This game of course had its fair share of flaws, but we are not here to talk about that.

Guild wars 2 has been in the works for sometime now and this past weekend ( Feb, 17th- Feb, 19th) the good people over at AreaNet released a beta for the press to play test. Some of the stuff they showed is off the charts of cool.
I am going to go through all the ones I have seen.

1 Character Creation.
Character creation in this game seems almost to fun. For those of you who like to crunch numbers to figure out a perfect character this may be frustrating but for those of you who love the Role Playing in you RPGs this is amazing. You start by selecting from one of fave races and then between 8 classes. If you want more details on that just wait for the Let’s Play videos that we will produce at the time of the games launch. My favorite part is the choice selection. To help build your characters abilities and back story you answer a number of questions. These questions are usual formed in the style of fill in the blank. They are formatted like multiple choice questions. Example ” After a glorious victory you returned to your camp to celebrate where you….” You can answer with responses ranging from ” I got drunk and blacked out” to ” I got in a fight” to ” I had sex”. These seemingly random questions not only affect your character but early enough in the game affects the story you encounter. Once you are done with all the questions you get a custom cut scene.

2 Combat
Combat in Guild wars promises to be fluid and entertaining. You can wield a number of main hand or off hand weapons. Depending on what you pick you slowly can unlock different abilities. A two handed great sword will unlock 5 abilities while a one handed sword will unlock three and a pistol in the off hand will unlock two. In the end you have 5 spells that are equipped based on you weapon choices. This ability makes a character very versatile. You can switch from one weapon to another on the fly changing your abilities at the same time.  But with all battle comes damage , no worries though because every class in this game has the ability to heal. In fact there is no dedicated healing class because all classes can heal themselves.

3 Quests
Unlike some of the other MMO’s I have played, not every quests starts and ends with the player talking to some NPC. Throughout the game there are quests that activate randomly. They can be anything from stop the oncoming pirate threat to kill a dragon. These quests are not mandatory but anyone who is in the area can participate no matter the level or whether or not they are members of the same party. These events are scalable meaning the more the merrier.

4 World Vs World PVP
Yea, that is right. World Vs. World Pvp. Every two weeks three servers will be linked up for a massive player vs. player match that takes place on a single map with 4 subsections. The point of these pvp sessions is not only for the fun of it. Those who are victorious win some major goodies for themselves and also all around benefits for their entire server.  Imagine hundreds of players all fighting for the same resources.

In the last few hours of the beta things got a little nuts. So many people we plaything that the game crashed repeatedly. This is a beta however and those are to be suspected. In the end I am super excited about this game and hope to get some hands on soon. Plus It’s free to play guys. Common.

Lava Waterfall? Yea it seems weird to us too.

In Yosemite national park, ever year a strange event occurs. It is only noticeable if you are in the right spot at the right time but when you see it in action it blows your mind. Lava pours over the side of this mountain, arcing like a waterfall. Ok it is not really lava. It is actually a waterfall called Horsetail Fall and it comes off the side of a large slab of granite called el Captain. The reason the water looks the way it does has to do with the placement of the earth in relationship to the sun. So no folks this is not shooting lava. Still pretty cool.

Dinosaurs, Jetpacks, Guns. Do I have your attention

ORION: Dino Beat down is a multilayer game soon to be released for PC. Sounds not so special. What if I added the fact that you are being attacked by waves of dinosaurs. These beast from back in time range from the viscous velociraptor, to the big old T-Rex. Don’t worry though you aren’t entering this unarmed. You will be given a range of different futuristic weapons. Oh, yea and JETPACKS.  Check it out here http://youtu.be/YPEvhcIevCI
