So, about thirty years ago, farmers by the names of Reg Mead and Richard Miles found themselves an Iron Age gold coin in the ground on their farm. The farm is located in Jersey just outside of Normandy France. They got excited and began combing the farm with metal detectors. Today they have amassed 30,000 to 50,000 silver and gold Celtic coins dating from somewhere around the 1st Century BC. They aren’t actually pirate coins. They are suspected to have been buried to protect them from the Roman invasion. Now that is cool right? Finding buried treasure is cool. What makes this really cool is the worth of the find. 15 Million. Yea. Currently they are in the Jersey Heritage Museum, being cleaned and inspected.
